No Computer Science experience? No problem!
You can help with registration, setting up, cleaning up, our fun activities, and overseeing general activity! There are so many opportunities for helping and so many opportunities to learn as a HenHacks Volunteer!
Roles and Responsibilities:
Registration Table
Attend to the registration table
Check in participants and direct them to designated areas
Distribute name tags
*Volunteers could shift to another role after registration concludes
Merchandise Table
Attend the merch table
Maintain and organize merch table
Make sure each participant gets the right shirt (volunteers, hackers, etc.)
If products are being distributed during a company workshop, assist in doing so
*May be needed during entire event
Set-up (day before)
Move things around as needed, any furniture that needs to be moved
Put up decorations, tables, chairs, directional signs, etc.
Clean-up
Take down decorations, directional signs, other advertising materials
Return furniture to its original location
Return registration/merch tables & chairs to correct location
*Needed after the event
Trash & Food Patrol
Set up food at meal and snack times
Pick up from delivery people if needed
Distribute/man line for food
Ensure people with dietary restrictions receive what they need
Maintain cleanliness in and around the area
Restock paper/plastic products between each meal/snack time
Clean up table after meal times (disposing of all trash, moving tables
Remain attentive to trash collection/disposal in all of Smith and Gore
Help Desk
Direct participants to locations of events
Answer general, directional questions
For our Alumni and Graduate Students
Genius Bar
Monitor Discord for questions and moderate
Answer any technical questions that may arise during hacking
Provide guidance and/or resources when applicable
Be approachable, supportive, and patient
Team Mentor
Provide advisement/suggestions
Brainstorming ideas
Monitor team communication over Discord if applicable
*Needed for the duration of the hacking portion
