About HenHacks
HenHacks is a student-run hackathon held annually at the University of Delaware. Each year we welcome hundreds of students across different skill levels, majors, and universities to participate in a fast-paced weekend of project building, workshops, company networking, and the chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes for completing exceptional technical projects.
About Our Team
The event is organized and managed by undergraduate students from the University of Delaware majoring in technical fields within Computer and Information Sciences. We are organized into committees focusing on various aspects of event planning, including Finance, Logistics, Marketing, Registration, Website, Volunteering, and Art. Despite our diverse roles, we share a common goal: to deliver an exceptional hackathon experience!
Your Role
When you join the HenHacks team, you gain the opportunity to work on a specific committee that aligns with your interest and strengths. You will shadow the committee leader, make meaningful contributions, and take ownership of your work that will have a direct impact on the success of our event.
What You’ll Do
Tackle committee tasks
Attend weekly meetings
Participate in monthly standups sharing your committee’s progress
Provide hands-on support during the HenHacks weekend in March

Internship Duration
6 months (October 2024 - March 2025)
**Note: This includes January 2025 (between the fall and spring semesters), with weekly remote meetings via Zoom and a time commitment of up to 5 hours per week.
Time Commitment
In-person meetings during the fall semester on Wednesdays from 6:55 to 8:15pm in an academic building on campus
2-3 hours per week completing asynchronous work during the semester
Time commitment increases as the event approaches, with January and February being the busiest months, requiring up to 6 hours per week depending on committee workload
Required Qualifications
Able to meet at the specified Wednesday in-person meetings from 6:55-8:15pm
Undergraduate student at the University of Delaware
Desired Qualifications
Pursuing a major within the UD Department of Computer and Information Sciences
Freshman or sophomore undergraduate
A student with a desire to build their soft skills and professionalism
A student who exhibits enthusiasm for event planning, collaboration, leadership, and ingenuity
Compensation
This position is unpaid, but has the potential of future promotion to paid leadership positions if the opportunity presents itself, though not guaranteed.
